Safe Routes to School Survey/Webmap

Posted Date: 10/21/24 (5:00 PM)

Let’s make it safer to walk, bike, and roll to school in Riverton.
Please, take our survey and pin the interactive webmap to share your experiences or concerns. Click on the links or use the QR Code.
Riverton is creating a Safe Routes to School Plan!
Earlier this year, Riverton was awarded a Planning and Programming (P&P) grant from the
Kansas Department of Transportation’s Safe Routes to School (SRTS) Program. Over the next
few months, Riverton will be working with KDOT to create our first SRTS plan. The plan will
include policy, program, and project recommendations to make walking, biking, and rolling to
school safer and more enjoyable.

As we develop the plan, here are a few ways you can participate to help make it the best it can
be:
***Right now! Complete our caregiver survey to let us know how your family currently
travels to school, why you travel to school the way you do, and what would encourage
you to walk or bike to school more. Please complete the survey by September 30th.

***Right now! Head to our interactive webmap to let us know where in town you think there
are issues; and what you would need to walk or bike to school more. Please submit your
answers by September 30th.

***Mark your calendar for our in-person pop-up open house coming in November to talk
with the project team about your school travel habits and help identify places that need
walking, biking, and rolling improvements.

Visit the Kansas Safe Routes to School website to learn more about SRTS and about the P&P
grant program. If you have any specific questions about Riverton’s plan, please reach out to
